The built-in Java and Uniface integration requires the deployment or a CORBA infrastructure, which is an overkill for most of the application; it requires the deployement of a broker. Orthosys has developped a Uniface extension to load a Java virtual machine in the Uniface application. The JVM is accessible for the whole session duration and the communiction with it is based on JNI, to bypass all the restrictions of the Uniface URB (Uniface Request Broker). This solution is therefore very performant and cost-effective.
